I'm throwing away the notes
I've had for far too long
They should have burned
Long ago
But then, I wasn't as strong
It's time to cut the cords
That bound and silenced me
I could have fled
Long ago
But I refused to be free
They were simple pieces of paper
Yet I gave them power to subdue me
And hid behind them
Long ago
I wasn't blind, I refused to see
Now my eyes are open wide
The notes are fragile once again
And I can do what I should have done
Long ago
Because I am no longer afraid
